The First Pentacle of Venus (Power Over Spirits and a Love Talisman)

This is it—the first pentacle of Venus. The first of five love talismans. This pentacle grants power over the spirits of Venus, and as the *Veritable Manuscript de Salomon* (a manuscript dated around 1750) tells us: “It is excellent for igniting love. Use it only on the person in whom you wish to awaken love for yourself. Consecrate it on Venus day of power, during the first or eighth hour.” In manuscripts, these pentacles often differ due to errors made by numerous copyists. I am making the classic version based on McGregor Mathers’s version, with minor corrections. He (Mathers) describes this pentacle as follows: “It is inscribed with the secret signs of Venus and the names of the angels Nogahiel, Acheliah, Socodiah, and Nangariel.” It must be made of Venus’s metal (copper) and consecrated by invoking the powers of Venus on the day and at the hour of her power. All pentacles of Venus are intended for matters of love and relationships, but each has its own nuances and properties.  Each of the talismans presented here was crafted with strict attention to every detail, such as planetary timing, the overall positive astrological aspect during consecration, the material used, specially consecrated tools, and so on.
